I am a dedicated and hard working person with a wide range of experiences and skills. I am kind, patient and caring which endears me to students. If a child does not understand a topic it is my belief that the reason can be found in the teaching style, not the students ability! Not everyone learns in the same way and I thrive in situations where I have to think outside the box to make learning fun and accessible for all!
After working as a special needs 1-1 and as an SEN playworker I made the move into teaching. I also have experience teaching in Spain and understand EAL needs well. I then studied at UEL working in Hackney for four years. I was Mathematics subject leader and developed a scheme of work to enable children to raise their attainment in calculations, using intervention and next steps to boost confidence and ability. I now work in Brighton and Hove as a Year 6 teacher so understand what is needed to pass the mandatory SATs tests.
Calm, kind, patient with high expectations. Most of all, children should look forward to my time with them. Education should be fun!
