Information About Charlotte - Durham tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Charlotte:
I'm Charlotte! I am a hard-working, down-to-earth and reliable tutor, from the North East of England. I can offer friendly and personable tutoring to students ranging from secondary school level to A-Level. I am happy to help you in any way I can - easing the processes of examinations, coursework, GCSEs and A-Levels. I am based in Durham, within the city centre, and I am available to meet you online, in person in formal and informal settings - libraries, cafes, etc! I also offer home tuition for a small, additional fee (to cover travel expenses).
I have been tutoring for almost two years, after obtaining a first-class degree in English Literature at Newcastle University and completing a postgraduate degree in Romantic and Victorian Literature at Durham University. Although I have no formal teaching experience, my current students can testify to my capabilities and natural suitability to teaching. I am a highly competent and intelligent person who has been through the same education system (with all of its stresses) as my students. I know how difficult exams, coursework and essays can be, and so I am equipped to help with any aspect of studies relating to English Literature. I have informally tutored my peers from GCSE to my current level of study, and they have found my help to be extremely beneficial. I also work part-time for the Home Office, which evidences my reliability and professionalism.
I devise lesson plans for my students after an initial discussion about what you wish to gain from tutoring, and after agreeing on the best style of tutoring for you, as an individual. I am confident that I know, and have studied, the majority of the set texts for GCSE and A-Level exams, as well as the literature tackled within the beginning stages of undergraduate degrees. If by any chance I haven't, rest assured I will arrive at the session fully prepared after doing my own research. During sessions, the content will range from close reading passages of literary texts, getting to grips with textual analysis, essay writing tutorials, spelling and grammar checks, and so on! The sessions will be directed by me, but will incorporate your preferred style of learning. I am happy to do whatever I can to help you, with the hope of guiding you through your current studies and beyond.
