Charles is an exceptional coach. I guarantee you will never look back once you engage with him as he delivers on everything his profile says he is - and more. You don’t find many coaches that care as much as he does and really go on the journey with your child in the way he does. He helped my son with A-level drama and English (very useful to be able to cover both!) I’ve had many coaches over the course of my children’s education - all from reputable companies - and Charles is without doubt - the best. And I’m hard to please! Having done English myself… He has extensive knowledge across English and Drama and most importantly, knows how to translate that into learning. He also has a great way of “nudging” my son along and made sure he met his deadlines and helped him organise and plan for his exams. He helped him across all aspects of the subjects, from performing to the more complicated written work in Drama and he established simple techniques that helped my son achieve his top grades. After a long, tedious and fruitless search for a brilliant English GCSE tutor for my daughter, Serendipity delivered Charles.

The list of superlatives one might use to describe Charles is lengthy and still would not adequately convey Charles’ skill as a tutor.

My daughter already had a challenging academic schedule along with a full complement of extracurricular commitments. Charles’ sessions for her are designed to extrapolate from the work already being set by school, bringing out the nuances in approach and instilling self-belief in her own creativity. Charles tutored my son for his GCSE drama, without his help my son would have really struggled with the theory. Charles is methodical and assisted him in making an detailed set of notes to work from. He is very knowledgeable on what needs to be included to gain marks. I believe my sons grade was 3 grades higher than it would have been without his help. I would not hesitate to recommend him. My son also really enjoyed his lessons with him.

The month before my A-level exams I spent working with Charlie, my ability to understand and write answers improved massively over my sessions with him. Before the first lesson, I was very impressed by Charlie's approach to tutoring and how he explained that he would help my daughter. Although she has only had a few lessons with Charlie, she likes the way he teaches and feels that he is helping her already.

We can’t recommend Charlie highly enough. He was fantastic and really helped our son who wanted some extra help with his A level English . Charlie completely understood what G ( our son) needed and where the gaps were and helped him enormously . Charlie is a truly exceptional tutor, I am so so thankful we found him. We were in desperate need of support for my 17 year old Daughter who was taking her A-level English and Theatre Studies exams. She had recently received 2 Cs in her mocks when she needed an A in both subjects in order to go to her first choice University. Luckily we found Charlie. After just a couple of sessions, he managed to improve her confidence and encourage her to revise new techniques and strategies. He was incredible, always willing to help meet a last minute deadline (sometimes providing sessions at 5am in order to submit her English Coursework on time). All of his sessions were prepared in advance, providing a detailed and structured approach. He often sent over articles and exemplar essays in between sessions in order to support her revision. We found Charlie to help our son resit his English GCSE after a disappointing first attempt. He was charming, enthusiastic, highly professional and inspired Marcos to work harder. In the short time of 5 weeks, Charlie identified where our son had dropped marks, gave him a clear understanding of what was required and what to focus on in order to improve his grade. This structure hugely helped him to regain his confidence. We were over the moon when our son passed the exam with flying colours. achieving 2 grades higher than his first attempt.

Charlie is a really personable guy who my daughter is finding really helpful with her drama A Level written work. He has been reliable and efficient and we expect to use him for English Literature as well. We are only a couple of weeks in but it’s going well so far.

Charlie was simply amazing. I've had bad comes for my English GCSE after several attempts and in result i just gave. However after meeting Charlie and getting to improve my understanding of the questions and different techniques to enhance my writing, i got my confidence back after failing for so long. He made the question look easier every time we attempted it and also worked at the same paste as the student, to give the best understanding for the student.

Charlie is very dependable, organised and willing to be flexible when required. Following a series of poor marks for her English, we recruited Charlie to get our daughter's confidence back before her AS exams.
