I'm a university lecturer in English literature. I publish at a professional level and I've received awards for my scholarship.

I offer the following:

• Private tuition in English literature at all levels from A-level upwards.

• Tutoring in English for academic or professional purposes, or in academic writing in any field, at any level.

• Latin tuition at any level.

Tutoring Experience

I teach English literature and Latin at university level, and have previously worked as a teaching assistant at a state secondary school. I have a wide range of experience, teaching material from Shakespeare to good academic writing.

Alongside this, I've led open-day events for school students at universities and worked professionally as a tour guide.

Tutoring Approach

I take a range of approaches to tutoring, and I am happy to either work towards an approach which suits you or bring more structure if you aren't sure what you want yet. I'm happy to both help you revisit material you feel uncertain about and to push you towards higher achievement.

I aim to meet you where you are and build up your confidence from there, with expertise in the subject and in the requirements of specific examination boards.

I'm based in the centre of York and can also offer online tutoring.
