I am a professional, all-round/multiple-subject tutor, having both home schooled tutees on a full-time basis, and taught one-on-one tuition to students of all ages, both in and out of formal education. I aim to strike the perfect balance between enjoyable lessons and discipline in order to get the best out of my tutees. All of this I do with great care and with the best interests of the student at heart, as transpires through my detailed reports.

I am also a professional soprano, and my passions are music, drama, dance and languages.

Tutoring Experience

I have almost ten years' experience teaching one-to-one singing, piano, keyboard, violin, music theory and music technology lessons, and have recently graduated with an M.Mus. in Vocal Performance and Opera from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (distinction).

Over the past two years, I have also taught one-to-one in various other subjects in which I am qualified, including full-time home-schooling pupils in all standard school subjects (including pupils with varying degrees of dyslexia and dyspraxia). In addition, I have undergone training to teach pupils in the 7/8+ exams, and am currently teaching music to students with Special Educational Needs as well.

I am also qualified to enter students for ABRSM exams if required/desired. I have a cleared Enhanced (Level 3) DBS Check and live in Central London.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that every student has the ability to be creative and inventive; it is up to the teacher to unlock that desire to create. It may be a cliche to say that each student is different, but it is nonetheless perfectly true: I do not believe that one style fits all; I like to adapt my teaching to the individual needs of each student, while still maintaining a high standard of excellence and instilling the importance of discipline and hard work when it comes to a student's own performance practise. If a teacher is able to help the student want to be disciplined in their own work, the result can only be success. Enjoyment in hard work is key.
