Parents of my students often credit my professionalism, organisational skills and excellent teaching style for helping their children to understand complex subjects. In addition, the results from the last academic year saw my students achieve on average A* - B grades.
I am an experienced, patient and successful tutor, home-school tutor and former secondary school teacher. I enjoy helping students to become more confident and successful in their studies.
I tutor students studying KS2, GCSE, A-level and degree. I support and tutor students studying English literature, English language and entrance examinations.
I am very adept at helping students with study skills to support them with their class-work. Furthermore, I help to prepare them for a variety of examinations and help them to organise their thinking and teach them how to structure essays.
I visit and teach students in their own homes, as students are often more comfortable and relaxed in their own environment.
I am available to tutor students weekday evenings between 4-9pm.
Please enquire about available sessions.
As a former Secondary school teacher I have experience teaching Year 7 to students studying for their A-levels.
Additionally, as an experienced tutor I have extended experience of teaching students from KS2 and those working toward entrance examinations to undergraduate students who require extra support with examined assessments, proof-reading and copy-editing (especially where English may not be their first language) and dissertations.
I have and/or continue to tutor students from a range of local schools, Newstead Wood, Royal Russell, St. Dunstans College, Langley Girls', Langley Boys', Buller's Wood, Hayes School, Hayes Primary, Bishop Challoner, Kent University, Goldsmiths College and many more.
Qualifications - BA degree from Goldsmiths University. I also studied and achieved a scholarship at James Allen's Girls School in Dulwich.
Depending on the student, I prefer to offer a tailored approach. I like to consult with parents and students to gain as much information as possible, about the student's ability, areas of strengths and weakness and their goals.
Additionally, I devise a measured itinery to help to support each student. Within this I implement exam techniques and study skills to help each student to become more confident and so that they might take ownership of their own learning.
