Information About Celestine - Baldock tutor - (3 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Celestine:
I am enthusiastic yet easy-going, and definitely a 'people person'. I have tutored and mentored all ages; most recently young adults at school and university. I have a wealth of experience as a scientist for over 30 years, working in the pharmaceutical industry and university, developing and leading teams from a variety of disciplines. I have worked mostly in the UK but have also had the good fortune to work in Switzerland and Zambia. As a mother of university students, I understand the pressures of todays exams, and as a trained teacher, I have developed a variety of teaching approaches which I can tailor to your needs.
I started my science career as a lecturer in Physiology and Pharmacology, teaching medical and science students and with responsibility for tutorial groups. I then spent the majority of my career in the pharmaceutical industry where I mentored my team members, new graduates, and post-graduate students. Following a period working in the public sector I trained as a secondary science teacher (qualified 5 years ago) to expand my role as an undergraduate and A-level tutor and enable me to teach at GCSE in addition.
I encourage my students to work with me in identifying the issues they may have and working to resolve these using a variety of tools (books, revision guides, workbooks, exam questions) and approaches (flow-diagrams, animations, stories). As your confidence improves, you will find you are asking more questions of me and in class, and this will boost your self-esteem further, and your grades. By helping you identify study techniques that are suitable for you, you will find your ability to learn at your next education stage (A level or University) will be enhanced. We will discuss your precise needs at the start of our first session. I will email worksheets to you for no additional cost but printing/ posting information may incur a small charge. I will travel up to 5 miles free of charge. Above that will incur a fuel charge.
