Maria Cecilia

I'm a fully qualified and experienced English and Spanish teacher. I am also a Lecturer in Higher Education and I'm currently doing an MBA. I'm Peruvian and British, I have lived in the UK for nearly a decade. I have previously worked as Head of Year for KS3 and in previous jobs I have held posts such as Academic English teacher, Personal Tutor, Academic Assessor, Examiner for a number of exam boards and Director of Studies. I'm very passionate about teaching, languages and travel.
I'm outgoing and fun, but very responsible and trust-worthy when it comes to work. I enjoy learning as well as teaching and I'm positive I can learn from you as much as you can learn from me.

Tutoring Experience

I worked as an English and Spanish teacher in Peru (South America) for 4 years. I have been living and working in the UK for nearly 10 years. I have worked with young learners as well as with university students, adults and professionals in business settings.
As well as teaching, I also do freelancing work as a translator, interpreter, proofreader, examiner and tutor.

Tutoring Approach

I believe tutoring is a great way to teach and learn in a less intimidating environment, with the possibility to truly personalize the content and to make the most of student talking time.
I also believe tutoring is fun and enriching for both the tutor and the tutee. I am very goal driven and I'm positive I can help anyone achieve their personal goals in a way in which they'll enjoy the process and be satisfied with the outcome.
