Hi, I'm Catherine, and I love psychology, education and everything special needy! At present I am an academic researcher, lecturer and consultant in special needs education. Although I currently lecture within education degree modules, my favourite psychology areas are developmental, social and psychopathology as they mirror my previous posts as mental health manager, special needs co-ordinator, counselling and developmental research. However I am more than happy to cover whatever area you wish or that fits with the syllabus or Units you are undertaking.

Tutoring Experience

I am a University Senior Teacher in Education (special needs and child development) an ex college lecturer, open learning co-ordinator and private school teacher, postgraduate private tutor. I am educated to Doctorate Level, NTF (National Teaching Fellow), CRB checked and a member of the Royal College of Teachers with over 18 years experience in teaching and examining for AQA and Edexcel within Psychology
I have over 15 years of academic research experience in psychology, special needs and education.

Tutoring Approach

I prefer to meet a tutee and discuss what style of revision they need. However, with the current covid epidemic I naturally would welcome online Microsoft teams teaching if you so desired . I love to encourage all my tutees to reflect and engage with the topics at hand and make educational and psychology modules, or A level psychology real by drawing on experiences and seeing how theories fit around real life which in turn enhances one's ability to evaluate well.
I can offer anything from long term assistance, through to quick revision sessions leading up to exams or dissertation submission with individual schemes of work tailored to suit student's own needs being available if required.

If you feel that you need a little extra input to achieve a good grade or would just like some general help with a particular unit or the minefield of a dissertation or thesis, then please feel free to give me a call.
