I have a BA Honours degree in Modern Languages from Nottingham University and also spent a semester at The University of Freiburg, Germany.
Whilst living for 3 years in Jamaica I was sent on a course with The Goethe Institut by the German Embassy to learn their highly successful methods of teaching foreign languages.
I have also worked in France in a commercial situation training French sales representatives..
I have spent many years in secondary schools in Inner London, Buckinghamshire, the London Borough of Sutton and the London Borough of Croydon where I was Head of Department. Whilst in Jamaica I was the examiner for The University of Cambridge Examination Board and also taught at the University of the West Indies and the Government Language Training Centre in Kingston.
I have been tutoring for nearly 3 years with very good success rates and have volunteered testimonials to show for it.
I carefully assess my students' requirements and adapt my teaching to suit the individual. I help students to make progress towards their examinations or in the case of adults toward achieving oral fluency if that is what is required.
I aim to make my students feel at ease and to enjoy their sessions with me. I also aim to enable them to converse without inhibition in a foreign tongue
