Personal Description:

I am very interested in people and believe at whatever age, they should be given the opportunity to achieve their best. I have worked mainly with Upper Woodwind and music theory, but alo have exeprience of English and lireracy. I have many interests and am interested in sport. especially Rugby Union and Squash. I believe that professional players should aslo be given the opportunity to continue their education for when they end their playing career. I have studies level two dsylexia to further help my students. Whatever I do I end up involved in organizing and/ or helping in. I have always enjoye helping people.

Tutoring Experience:

For over thirty years I have worked in education mostly as a tutor in Woodwind( Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone and Recorder) at various levels. I have got students to achieve grade eight and above or just encouraged them to play to a competent standard without the examination. I have worked with small groups, one to one and run bands. In recent years I have worked with students wishing to learn English, have given emotional and learning support to students over sixteen on a one to one basis, in class and out. During this time I gained experience of tutoring Trinity Rock School singing. Over the years I have worked in various schools at various levels and have helped students do their best. Many of my students have achieved grade eight and above and excellent marks in grade five theory. I get great pleasure when my students, do well.

Tutoring Approach:

I have always believed that Every Child (Student) Matters, long before it came into education, therefore I treat every student as an individual and focus my lessons on the best way they can learn. No two students are the same. I always discuss with my students their progress, where they would like to go and what they want to achieve, then what they have achieved. We then follow a plan suited to their needs. My students are always told if they do not understand ask as I will be more annoyed if they pretend to understand and not tell me they do not.I have found that students respond to being consulted. I try to encourage and support as criticising is unproductive. I enjoy seeing my students succeed. Thank you
