My name is Caroline and I've been living in Chester for 17 years. I live with my husband and my daughter. I first qualified as a teacher of Modern Languages. However, after 3 years teaching in a secondary school, my love of travel led me abroad where I qualified as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language, doing the Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults at The British Council in Madrid. My passion is travelling and learning about other cultures. That's why I love my job as I am constantly meeting people from all around the world.
I have been teaching for 29 years in the UK, Spain, Singapore, Hong Kong and Egypt. I have taught all levels from total beginner to advanced. I have wide experience in General English, English for Specific Purposes (e.g. business/profession specific English) and English for Academic Purposes. I also train students for Cambridge exams (KET/PET/FCE/CAE/CPE). I am in fact a Cambridge examiner and also work examining for Trinity College, London. I am also a very experienced teacher trainer.
I speak several other languages apart from English - Spanish, French, German and Arabic and have picked up bits of other languages when living abroad e.g. Indonesian, Chinese etc. I think this has given me good insight into the difficulties students with different first languages have. I can therefore target my lessons to address those problems. My classes are professional, yet friendly and relaxed and my students make good progress.
