Hi i'm Cara and currently working as a chemistry teacher in Inverclyde. I am a friendly and approachable individual which I think is essential for my role both as a teacher and as a tutor. Through my work I see many individuals with a variety of different needs all of which need to be catered to, I feel that this makes me a very able tutor as I have a wealth of resources at my disposal and no challenge is too great.
As a teacher I have an advantage over the tutoring of the new Scottish National courses, giving me first hand experience of what others are struggling with, as well as the materials availible which are tailored to this new course.
I have worked in schools for the 5 years and have ongoing teaching experience working as a chemistry teacher. As well as this I have tutored various individuals throughout my time at university as well at present. I have tutored children from primary level all the way up to higher level as well as tutoring adult learners at university level.
When tutouring I like to work with the pupil to cover issues that they are having with certain topics. I don't have set curriculums I like to get to know my pupils and understand what it is that they find difficult about the work to allow me to teach them in the best way for their particular needs. By understanding where they are struggling and working through problems together I find that pupils gain more confidence in their ability and are able to tackle future problems independently.
