Personal Description:

I am a PhD student with over 10 years of teaching experience around the world including serving as an adjunct professor in New York City. At the moment I teach at two central London independent schools and so have limited openings for the 2016/17 school term.

Tutoring Experience:

With over 10 years of teaching experience around the world, I am qualified to help a wide range of students achieve their personal best. I specialize in discrete tutoring for international families, professional children, staffed households and the particular needs of (boarding or day) independent or private school clients.

• Prepare students for exams including: Entrance Exams (11+, 13+, CE), A-Level, GSCE, SAT, SAT II’s, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses.
• University and secondary school applications- USA Common Entrance Application, UCAS, interviews, writing examples and portfolios.
• Support for students with specific learning differences (dyslexia, ADD/ADHD) and test anxiety.
• Unique tutoring for homeschool or independent learning students.

I have had previous students admitted to US Ivy League schools, along with St. Andrews, UCLA and Stanford. This past Spring my students were admitted to UCL, Cambridge and Princeton.

A short list of schools previous students have attended or been accepted at.

University: St. Andrews, Yale, Columbia, Brown, Notre Dame, Princeton, NYU, UCLA, UCSB, Boston University, Emory, Manchester, London Imperial, Queen Mary, Kings College, Stanford, John Hopkins, Trinity, and UCL.

Secondary or Prep-School: United Nations International School, Marymount School, La Guardia School of Performing Arts, Harrow, Trinity School, Camden School for Girls, The Godolphin & Latymer School, Dalton School, St. Paul's, Winchester, Eton, Haycon Internationa, Southbank International, The American School of London, North London Girls, Oundel, Trevor Day School and Loyola School.

Primary/Elementary: The Calhoun School, Pilgrim House, Mill House, Sloane Square, Colet Court, The Children`s Professional School, St. Ignatius Loyola, The Spence School and Trevor Day Primary.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach is very unique because it stems from a combination of different teaching experiences and education theory. With younger students, I make learning fun and focus on building core concepts which will help them be better students for life. For older students, I can quickly target key areas to help them improve their knowledge of the subject matter and prepare them for exams. I also help students build soft-skills such as organization, presenting an idea, leadership and public speaking.

I have taught in schools which followed Project Based Learning, Student-Led Methods. I am highly skilled in the Socratic Method and often use this method when tutoring.
