Information About Cameron - Hampstead tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Cameron:
My name is Cameron and I am a violin, viola and theory teacher based in Hampstead Heath. I have 9 years private teaching experience with students from 4 to adults, as well as extensive experience teaching in schools in one-on-one and group contexts.
In the UK I have played as Co-principal Viola of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and have also been invited to play as Co-Principal Viola of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. I also perform frequently with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Southbank Sinfonia. With the Southbank Sinfonia I performed Bruch's Romanze as soloist at St. Martin in the Fields and have also played as Principal Viola with the orchestra on many occasions.
In Australia, I have worked regularly with the most renowned orchestras: including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. I have received various scholarships and awards including the Harmer Memorial Scholarship and first place in the University of Queensland Sleath Performance Prize.
I have performed all over the world in venues such as the Concertgebouw, Konzerthaus, Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, Hamer Hall, Sydney Opera House and Notre Dame.
I have enjoyed teaching privately and in schools for the past 9 years in both individual and group situations. I have vast experience with students of all ages and standards: ranging from child to adult and beginner to advanced. As well as this, I have led workshops with ensembles from regional Australia as the violist of the Australian Youth Orchestra String Quartet. In 2014, I regularly led workshops in schools throughout London as a violist of the Southbank Sinfonia. I believe that music is an integral part of a well-rounded education as it develops various skills which can be translated to other areas of learning and life, as well as being innately enriching in itself on a creative and intellectual level.
I believe that it is of the highest importance to adapt my teaching approach to fit the learning style and goals of the individual student. During the course of my performance studies at the Queensland Conservatorium I elected to study pedagogy which gave me a solid understanding of teaching principles and now I apply these principles to my teaching on a practical level. I greatly enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities.
