Personal Description:

I am a student in my fourth and final year of a masters degree in Engineering Mathematics at the University of Bristol. I studied Maths, Further Maths and Physics in my A levels, with Chemistry and Human Biology AS levels, all of which I worked extremely hard for in order to achieve good grades. Having finished my A levels only 3 years ago, the material covered in school and college is still fresh in my mind, furthermore, I am very used to using the basic mathematical principles taught at GCSE and A level every day in my degree and I am very aware of how important they are. Besides studying maths, I enjoy cross country and track running. I train hard and compete at a national level, this is a big part of my life as it has shown me that hard work pays off, which is a philosophy that extends to all walks off life, including academics!

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored GCSE level students for the past 5 years and A level students for the past 3 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it.
All of my students have made significant improvements during the time I've spent with them, the vast majority achieving A or A* grades across a variety of different units and exam boards.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a young tutor which is a great advantage when working with GCSE and A level students. In order to reach the best of your ability I believe it is important to work together as a team. I get a great deal of satisfaction from seeing students getting the results they've worked hard for.
As for my teaching method, I prefer to go over 1 or 2 specific topics at a time. the student should highlight any areas he/she is finding difficult and we will spend some time understanding that topic. Once we have a firm understanding we will practice some exam style questions from past papers and spend some time going through the mark scheme. this is important as it shows what the examiner is looking for and how they will mark your answers.
