I am the Head of Business and Economics at an excellent school in West Kent, as well as Team Leader Examiner for AQA A Level Economics.

Tutoring Experience

I have been business and economics for 10 years, with 6 of those years as head of a highly successful department. Results are typically in the top 10% nationally for student progress, with last year being in the top 2%.
I have been marking on paper 3 for AQA A Level Economics for 4 years, while also undertaking a team leader role. This role includes training and monitoring other examiners, in particular in identifying and rewarding the assessment objectives within answers. I therefore have expert knowledge of the AQA Economics and Edexcel Business A Level specifications.

I am also an experienced personal tutor, having had one tutee each year, with 100% success rate against UCAS predictions.

Tutoring Approach

I have developed a wide range of pedagogic strategies to meet specific student needs in a friendly way. I make use of blended learning techniques as well as interleaving to constantly revisit the specification’s key areas.
I prefer to use OneNote or other online notebook platforms to allow for distribution of resources, and a stylus/Apple Pencil for exam skills.
