This is how 3 referees rated Cai:
I am a motivated undergraduate Physics student at The University of Edinburgh. I am on track for a first-class degree and I am interested in using my expert knowledge and skills to help younger generations find enjoyment in Math and Physics while also succeeding in their own classrooms. I am very familiar with the A-level system and hope all my tutee's can receive top marks.
Beyond academics, I also enjoy playing football, rock climbing, and photography.
My experience with teaching comes from being a student at University. Physics is a very demanding degree program and as a result there is a strong sense of community within the degree. Thus, my teaching experience comes from helping my peers and the younger students on my degree program to fully understand concepts and complex mathematics. I find it highly rewarding and it even helps me to further explore topics I am interested in.
I believe my role as a tutor is to provide guidance and clarification while allowing tutee's to reach conclusions as independently as possible. I think this provides the most valuable learning experience and hopefully solidifies concepts with the tutee for a long-term basis. I try to offer directed support so that my tutee's can gain confidence in the subjects we are working on.
I think diagrams and written work are very effective learning mechanisms when used in conjuncture with discussions. I have developed very effective study habits over the course of my degree and hope to impart these to my tutee's.
I think organization and preparation are paramount to all professional endeavors and as a result I will strive to have material and topics prepared prior to all tutoring sessions.
