This is how 2 referees rated Bunmi:
My name is Bunmi and I am a recent PhD Chemistry graduate and part time lecturer. I have recent experience of interdisciplinary research in chemical biology, natural products chemistry and analytical science. My research experience provides a useful link that helps to make science relevant to students and easier to understand.
I have several years of experience of undergraduate teaching at the University of Leicester as well as A2 and AS level teaching in various further education environments. I have taught tutorials and laboratory sections in organic chemistry, organic synthesis, spectroscopy and its applications, general chemistry (A-level), science modules in level three applied science, and facilitated problem based learning sessions.
I have worked for an agency as a supply teacher. I covered lessons in Science in various secondary schools and colleges. I have frequently taught at Colleges and helped students with their UCAS application. I am currently working as a science tutor at a College in Leicester where i teach students on the Access course.
Science is a multidisciplinary field and therefore has different ways in which it can be approached. I would consider my approach to teaching one in which students are encouraged to understand the basic principles of chemistry by linking the materials to what the students are already familiar with and therefore, commit very little to memory. This makes learning fun and easy for the students to remember and apply.
I make every effort to create a stimulating and engaging environment for the student.
