Personal Description:

Originally from South Africa, I have been living in the UK for almost a decade and have enjoyed teaching from Nursery School through to lecturing at University. I have a fun, easy-going personality and I enjoy the rapport I have with my students.I strongly believe that there are too many distractions in a classroom setting, which is why so many students excel when having one on one tutoring.

Tutoring Experience:

Before Kingswood School, I worked at Thames Christian College in London, in a full-time permanent position where I taught Drama, English, Religious Studies and ICT from Year 7 to GCSE, since 2007.
Prior to this role, I taught at Dainfern College, an independent school in South Africa where I taught Drama and ICT.
When I finished school and after doing a gap year in Israel and the Middle East, I returned to study B Hons Drama, and a Post-Graduate in Education. After doing much Drama related work, I then enjoyed working in educational theatre for Hooked on Books, a children’s educational theatre group, before committing myself to education only.

Tutoring Approach:

As is clear from my CV, I have a passion for teaching and training. I love the challenge of being able to see my student’s growth from the beginning of a year to the end, and I have no doubt that I will be able to bring out the talents of any student, and that the difference will easily be able to be seen. My methods are from the core syllabus but my expression and outworking of that is always through positive reinforcement. If I believe in a person, the person will believe in him/herself.
