Brandon

I am a 3rd year engineering student studying Masters of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. I am passionate about STEM education and making subjects such as maths and physics more accessible. I have a personal interest in sustainability, the built environment and big data, which is where I'm focusing my engineering education.

Tutoring Experience

I have privately tutored students in AQA A level physics, further maths, higher physics, tutored early career professionals in numerical reasoning, maths skills and data interpretation, and tutored Scottish Higher and national 5 maths and physics. Additionally, I am a registered STEM ambassador (including background check), with experience providing workshops and presentations to primary school students, to explain engineering concepts and such as renewable energy.

Tutoring Approach

I understand that mathematics and physics cannot take a one size fits all approach, and it is essential that the right concepts are given the right time. I focus on providing differing methods for explaining concepts, and prefer to use pratical examples to reinforce problem solving skills that then in turn help with understanding. I also am familiar with exam requirements for both english and scottish exams and can focus on exam and test preperation. I like to provide run throughs of topics with worked examples, which I can still do through online teaching.
