My name is Binh (my English name is John) and I am currently pursuing the PhD degree in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Newcastle University. My PhD study in the UK is funded from the university to conduct the research on electric vehicle battery charger. I have published several scientific papers in my research field. Moreover, I have a good background in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)
I have been a tutor on Maths and Physics since 2009, when I was an undergraduate student. I have experience of teaching GCSE or A-Leve students to help them improve their performance.
In Newcastle University, I am a Teaching Assistance and Lab Demonstrator of several Modules from September, 2016. I have completed the Introduction to Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Training (ILTHE Training) organized by Newcastle university.
Each student has different backgrounds, interests and styles of learning. Therefore, my teaching method is also adjusted according to students.
I am a patient person and good listener. Always trying to understand the problems or mistakes of students and helping them to improve their performance.
Giving students example is an effective way to help them validate the principle behind each lesson. The examples could be provided by pictures, videos or even computer simulation.
I also frequent ask students further question to help them deeply understand the lesson.
