I am a second year undergraduate studying Economics at the University of Bristol. I have a passion for both Maths and Economics, having studied the two subjects from a GCSE level right the way through to degree level. I have recently secured myself a summer internship in Capital Market Operations with Goldman Sachs and am very excited to begin broadening my economic toolkit even further. I would describe myself as a friendly, approachable and determined tutor; I put in a lot of effort to ensure my pupils exceed their targets and thrive off seeing constant progress.
I currently tutor for the charity Action Tutoring; giving weekly 1 hour Maths tutoring at Redland Green School and I worked with the Brunel academy last year. I also spent a month volunteering as an English teacher in a school in Indonesia last summer which was both a challenging and rewarding experience.
I am very friendly and very patient; two qualities that I think are essential for being a successful tutor and for helping the pupil feel at ease. I prepare thoroughly in advance to ensure that the time available is maximised, and ensure I gather as much information on the pupil's strengths and weaknesses. Usually, I like to begin each session with a quick 5 minute recap of the material we touched on previously to ensure that the knowledge is being consolidated. Having 4 younger siblings and also having previously tutored in various schools means I have plenty of experience at dealing with a range of abilities. Being a student myself, I often use my own past successful revision techniques and tricks to help tackle the upcoming exams.
