Beth

LLB (First-Class) and LLM (Distinction) graduate and training contract holder with experience in legal casework and legal editorial work. Achieved an average mark of 75 at undergraduate level and 80 at postgraduate level. Several of my written coursework pieces received high academic praise and were recommended for publication.

Tutoring Experience

My academic focus areas include international law, public international law, international criminal law, international human rights law, asylum and refugee law and international migration law.

Beyond my academic achievements, I have a great deal of work experience that enables me to effectively guide current undergraduate students. For example, when I sat on the Editorial Board of the Kent Student Law Review, I was responsible for proofreading and editing submissions - this role in particular means I am able to provide detailed and helpful feedback to students on essays and dissertations in any legal practice area.

Tutoring Approach

Whilst I am able to provide my most effective teaching services when the sessions are structured around a specific essay or dissertation, I may also be able to help with general revision and guidance in specific areas (feel free to message first to see if I can help). I can tailor the sessions according to the needs of the student - this can be a one-off session or a series of sessions. I am also happy to provide proofreading and feedback services for essays and dissertations. Feedback would include comments on structure (how best to answer the question and present the relevant arguments), content (if there are any key issues or doctrines that have been missed), spelling and grammar.
