This is how 4 referees rated Belinda:
I am an experienced tutor and former GCSE examiner and have also lectured at a London university, worked in schools. I am very approachable and take a collaborative approach to teaching and learning which is centred on the learning and individual needs of the tutee. Behavourial and emotional difficulties, school phobics, SEN tutees (including very able students) are of special interest as well as GCSE and AS/A level students. Degree support is one of my specialisms - up to PhD level.
I have been tutoring for over 15 years and have a broad range of academic qualifications, including a PhD and a PGCE.
Examination technique, working to marking criteria and using past papers is the way I approach examination focused tutoring such as GCSEs. However, my approach to tutoring is person centred and uses a variety of resources including visual pictures and books to introduce literary concepts and language based insights - especially to younger students or pre GCSE students. I believe it is vital to work in partnership with all learners.and to incorporate a wide range of learning tools in order to accommodate individual learning styles
