Online Economics Tuition

Experienced tutor and official examiner.
Big improvements are often made with small steps and students will go far once they realise that a little bit more effort every day makes a huge difference over a year. This is the attitude I try to encourage in all my tutees as regular effort quickly removes the stress.
I am an official examiner for A level economics and I know what the examiners want to see. I teach good technique which is focused on achieving all of the assessment objectives which are necessary for a high grade.
I have taught students of all abilities. Not everyone can finish with an A* but, in my experience, every student can make big improvements with a bit of focus and encouragement.

Tutoring Experience

Tutor, teacher, and official examiner.
I have tutored economics for many years and have also taught it at a private 6th form tutorial college for three years. I also taught the GCSE history class at a small independent school for a couple of years, back when I tutored history.
My work as an official examiner in A level economics has given me an invaluable insight into what the examiners want to see as well as the most common errors that students can make.

Tutoring Approach

Having taught pupils with very different abilities and needs, I am flexible in my approach. I do however ensure that exam technique is learned properly, difficult concepts explained simply, and that effective learning strategies are adopted. A student doesn't have to find the subject fun to find it interesting and just because it's difficult doesn't mean that it should be causing the student unnecessary stress. Life's too short for that and with a more sensible and measured approach, almost all students can make considerable progress towards their goals.
