I am an experienced and outstanding teacher (Ofsted Mar 2017) of 11+ years who teaches mainstream and special needs children and young people from KS1 to KS4, including GCSE Maths.

I am a family man who enjoys spending time with my wonderful family, who are the most important people to me. We enjoy going out as a family and visiting friends, places and learning more about the world.

I am an affable person who has a great sense of humour and can see the funny side in most things... I am an easy going person, who is calm, caring and who encourages children and adults to be the best they can be. I enjoy helping others and like to see children and young people to aspire. I find it relatively easy to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.

Tutoring Experience

I have a combination of mainstream and special school experience, and for the past 5 years worked in special schools with children and young people with disabilities such ASD, ADHD, PDA, MLD, and SEMH. I also teach and tutor pupils with anxiety issues.

I have a working knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum and have taught and successfully prepared pupils for SAT's. I have also successfully taught, entry level qualifications in numerous subjects, GCSE's, BTEC and ASDAN qualifications. Most of my pupils have achieved or exceeded expected progress.

During my teaching career, I have had the pleasure of Ofsted visiting the schools I have worked in, and always received positive feedback from the Inspectors. The feedback I got from the first two observations were ‘good with outstanding features’, even more impressive as the school was judged otherwise. My recent observation (March 2017) where I was a part of the teaching staff, the school was judged outstanding.

I am a trained Autism Lead, and train others about autism.

I have subscriptions to: The National Autistic Society, nasen, Autism Education Trust (Tools for Teachers) and NASUWT.

Continuing Professional Development courses: Safeguarding Children In Education, Child Protection in Education, Child Exploitation & Online Safety, Child Neglect, Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding Vulnerable Young People, Basic Food Hygiene, The SEND Code of Practice, Prevent Bullying, First Aid Essentials, Data Protection, The Prevent Duty, Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA), Channel General Awareness module, Autism + Sensory Issues, Epilepsy and Rescue Medication Training.

Tutoring Approach

I approach every tuition with a personalised approach. I will discuss with parents/carers what they want their child to achieve. As well as offering their child an academic learning approach, I’m also able to teach from a holistic point of view. I promote learning to be interactive and fun. I have built positive relationships with all of my tutee’s and their parents/carers. I am an enthusiastic, inspiring and motivating person with a great sense of humour.
