I am a pleasant, patient and inspiring individual who is vastly experienced in working with children from all ages and backgrounds.
I'm a graduate in Business Studies and experienced in working with children from Primary School to GCSE students.
With over 3 years of working in a Secondary School recently, I have a very high understanding of how to work with young persons, getting the best out of them to achieve objectives. Having spent a considerable amount of time within the English department, I possess an in-depth understanding of the English syllabus within Secondary Schools and how students can achieve their desired grades.
I have also worked closely with students with specialist needs helping them to achieve and exceed expectations within the School environment.
I possess a vast amount of up-to-date knowledge of young persons (aged 11-16) through my recent employment at a Secondary School. This is a role in which I have recently been primarily based within the English department supporting young persons from various abilities and backgrounds. One particular child who recently completed his GCSE's exceeded his target grades. Previously, the child was predicted to achieve a C grade although he recently scored an A grade in his Mock Exams. From having a significant dislike for the subject, he has exceeded all expectations following my support and became one of the higher achieving students in his year group.
In addition, I hold experiences of being a private tutor outside of the School. This involves teaching English in which I was able to support two young boys with a high level of spoken English achieve the grades they were looking for. As a result, this lead to two delighted parents due to the performances of their children!
Working with various Teachers over a number of years, I like to vary my approach from student to student in order to get the best out of my students.
However, I aim to take an encouraging and patient approach to teaching which involves students being given plenty of praise and encouragement to keep going. Making the learning environment fun and engaging for the students is a must and as a result, I aim to adjust tasks and lessons to keep the learning buzz going!
