This is how 2 referees rated Asim:
I am an undergraduate at the University of Reading studying Economics. Having completed my first year at university in Manchester (University of Manchester), I wanted to take time away to pursue my interest in teaching, and hope to improve students' learning through the experience gained over the past two years.
During my A Levels I was made to 'self-teach' Economics and managed to achieve an A grade with over 90% at AS Level.
I'm currently resuming my studies at Reading university after having been a Year 6 Teaching Assistant at Wessex Primary School. I was heavily involved with SATS preparations and have a good working knowledge of the curriculum. In 2014/15 I worked at Desborough College giving 1:1 Maths support to children across the school, including students in their final year of GCSEs. I also helped out with Economics revision and supported AS students throughout the year. As well as working at Desborough, I volunteered at Furze Platt Infants school for a year helping in Maths, Literacy and Reading. I found this extremely enjoyable and it didn't take long for the children to warm to me as they were soon asking the class teacher to be the first to read to me!
A current tutee of mine started off on an E grade for Economics, and after around 12-15 sessions his grade improved to a B, which he achieved this year. This was down to his commitment during tuition and my approach to tutoring was clearly successful.
