Personal Description:

I'm Antoine, an Anglo-French student currently studying International Relations BSc at the London School of Economics and Political Science. I grew up in both Britain and France, and have always loved travelling. I have also spent time in Spain, perfecting my Spanish. My primary academic interests are in past and contemporary political developments, modern history, and creative writing.

My passion for self-teaching myself languages has taught me a lot about the learning process, having reached, for example, a high level in Arabic and Japanese. Other than than, I enjoy boxing and long-distance running. I took GCSEs and the IB, scoring highly in both.

Tutoring Experience:

I have prior experiences privately tutoring both French and Spanish in West Sussex. My students went on to receive 6s and 7s for IB, with those taking A levels getting A*s.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in guiding the student through the learning process, avoiding simple instruction. Through my teaching, I try to make the subject seem important and interesting, channeling my own enthusiasm to engage tutees. I am patient and believe that it is the tutor's job to build up the student's belief in their ability to tackle challenging ideas and concepts. It is my opinion it is through the creation of this self-confidence that students are able to successful engage with the subject in an exam setting.

To help achieve this, I will periodically set targets and goals, helping foster a sense of accomplishment while solidifying the sessions' content. This will also help me build an idea of how the student works, giving me information with which to tailor future tutoring to their specific requirements.
