I am an enthusiastic and hardworking teacher. My favourite part of teaching is seeing the children's pride and happiness when they achieve well or finally get something they've been struggling with. I work hard to develop good bonds with each of the children I teach and help them to raise their confidence and self esteem. My aim is to give children a lifelong love of learning and the tools they need to learn and work with confidence and independence.
In my spare time I love running and have just completed my 10th marathon. I also teach aerobics. I am learning British Sign Language and having achieved my Level 1 qualification I am now studying Level 2. I also enjoy spending time at home with my family and my two cats, relaxing and watching films. I love to travel and visit new places.
I am a Primary teacher currently in my sixth year of teaching. At the moment I teach Year 2, previous to this I have taught a range of age groups across the Primary phase including years 3 and 5. I have also worked as a teacher for children with Special Educational Needs working on 'P Scales', in particular children on the Autistic Spectrum. I have experience teaching children with English as an additional language. I have an excellent knowledge of KS1 statutory assessments (SATs) and supporting children to achieve good results.
I believe in a personal approach, adapting teaching to each child's needs and taking the child's interests in to consideration to make learning engaging and memorable. I am fun and friendly, developing good relationships with children. I am patient and caring and give lots of praise when children are trying hard and achieving well.
