I have a PhD in biology from Imperial College and over 20 years experience as a GCSE and A-level Biology Tutor. My pupils achieve high grades and go on to read medicine, law and other disciplines at top universities including Oxford and Cambridge. My students have had high success rates and many of my pupils have achieved A and A* as a result of my tuition. I have helped many budding and now qualified doctors, surgeons, vets, lawyers, physiotherapists and other professionals into top ranking universities. I am a friendly and encouraging tutor and help students achieve examination success.
I have been teaching for over 20 years in all syllabuses - OCR, AQA, WJEC and EdExcel. I have experience of tutoring students from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds and ages. I have taught in schools, tutorial colleges and as a Lecturer at Oxford University. I have tutored pupils from the following schools and colleges:

I teach GCSE and A-level Biology and I also tutor some topics in undergraduate biology. I have prepared students for their 11+ Entrance Exams for schools. I can help pupils prepare their Personal Statements for UCAS. I can also offer Oxbridge interview preparation lessons, and students will have a mock Oxbridge style interview which will be analysed and discussed and improvements will be suggested so students are highly prepared for their Oxbridge interview. I can also edit undergraduate, masters and PhD theses and scientific papers in biological sciences.
I enjoy tutoring and I am a friendly and approachable tutor. I aim to help students achieve their career aims by building their knowledge, confidence, learning skills, and examination techniques. I inspire and encourage students to learn and enjoy their subjects so they can achieve exam success and embark on their university studies.
I keep tutorials interesting and encourage learning. Students will be taught topics in an inspirational way, and have regular tests to assess learning. I will ensure that students understand the questions, how the question relates to the theory, and how to answer exam questions concisely for optimal marks. Exam preparation will be thorough, and students will practise past exam papers and develop their examination techniques for exam success.
