I am a 36 year old secondary school teacher with a passion for History from all eras, from the Medieval period through to the 21st Century. I also have an interest in local history and genealogy.
I love teaching and care about the grades my students achieve.
I have been teaching for 13 years in Secondary Schools including Grammar Schools and Comprehensive Schools.
I have taught ages 11 to 18, covering GCSE and A-Level to students of all levels and abilities, with experience of supporting pupils with specific special educational needs to challenging high ability pupils.
My exam results have been been consistently above the national average with students making between 3 and 5 levels of progress.
My lessons have been judged 'outstanding' by OFSTED and by senior teaching staff at the schools I have worked at.
I also have experience of helping to train PGCE students during their teacher training placements in school.
I really care about my students and the results that they achieve. Therefore, my approach to tutoring is to help all of my students to achieve their full potential through interesting and challenging tasks. I also hope that my tutoring style helps students to prepare emotionally for the pressures of examinations.
Lessons are highly planned and tailored to students individual abilities to enable them to make excellent progress and fulfill their potential.
