I have a Masters degree and a First Class Honours Bachelor's degree. I read Theatre and Performance at the University of Leeds, before completing my MA in Performance at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, one of the country's leading drama schools with an international reputation.
Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, I have been living in London eight years. I work as a professional actress and writer working in London and internationally. I recently won the Best Comedy Award at the Adelaide Fringe for my one woman comedy theatre show. I have always enjoyed academic study, and am passionate about opening up opportunities to young people and adults through education and learning.
I come from a very educationally focused family, with both my parents having been awarded the MBE for "Services to Education.''
I currently teach Barclays Life Skills lessons in schools and colleges across London and the UK. The subjects vary and include people, work and money skills.
I teach drama to children aged 3+ at Montage Theatre Arts School, London.
I taught English as a foreign language at a children's summer school in Xi'an, China.
I taught English and Drama for a year in young offender institutions and prisons in the UK, with the award winning organisation 'Reflex'.
I am passionate about language, literature and theatre. It is this passion that will fuel my enthusiasm to deliver high quality lessons that are engaging and relevant to each individual's needs and requirements. I would ensure that my lessons are not only effective but also enjoyable and encouraging.
