This is how 4 referees rated Anna:
I am a freelance director based in Bristol with a wide range of experience in many areas of theatre including new writing, Shakespeare, classics, modern classics, post-modernism, absurdism etc. I took GCSE Drama (A*) and A-Level Drama (A) then went onto study English and Drama at the University of Sussex where I passed with a 2:1. I then went on to study a Masters in Directing at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where I passed with merits.
I have a wealth of experience of working with performers from ages 8-80. Though directing sees me working with large groups of people I also work one on one with actors hoping to improve their audition techniques and monologues.
Though I have no qualifications in teaching I am confident in researching, planning and delivering workshops to large groups of people and I know I would be just as capable transferring these skills to a one on one lesson.
My studies at school, university and theatre school mean that I have a breadth of knowledge to impart and am keen and eager to do so.
My lessons are tailored to meet the with individuals learning requirements whether that be for pleasure, personal development or academic purposes. I have skills in the practical elements of creating and performing theatre but also the history of writers, directors, performers, performance style and practitioners.
Any of the actors I have worked with would tell you I am an empathetic, intelligent and patient director with a lot of passion for theatre and its practices. I hope that my classes are informative but also relaxed and lot of fun.
I will happily travel to you to teach but anywhere outside of Bristol may require a little extra cost for transport or if it is suitable I can teach from my own home in Southville, Bristol.
