Personal Description:

I'm Anna, a tutor based in Canterbury with a love of English, languages and creative subjects.
I am a graduate of the University of Oxford, and have a First Class BA degree in English Language and Literature. I have also completed a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at UCA Canterbury, and attained A-Levels in English Literature, Fine Art, French and Latin at Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School, as well as an EPQ.
I am outgoing, hard-working and reliable, and always enjoy meeting and connecting with new people. I am able to tutor pupils from primary school through to A-level in English language or literature, and would also happily help with university/ Oxbridge applications, essay writing skills, and GCSE-level French and Latin.

Tutoring Experience:

I tutored other students in French while at secondary school, have completed work experience in a primary school, and am fully DBS checked.

Tutoring Approach:

I will tailor my tutoring approach to you, according to your individual aims and target grades. I will ask for as much information as possible about your curriculum or course material, current and predicted grades, and aspects of the course which you are enjoying as well as those which are currently more challenging. I will try to incorporate these challenging ideas into things which you already feel confident with, so that our sessions can be as positive and productive as possible.
I like to work across disciplines to find links between English literature and Fine Art in my own essays and creative work. I use the same approach when tutoring; I will ask about your individual interests and use these to inform our discussions. I would like to help you develop your own voice as a reader and independent thinker, which will help you at GCSE and A-Level, and beyond.
