Welcome parents and guardians alike!
Let me begin by introducing myself. I am an English teacher at one of London, Newham's most successful secondary schools, well known for its hard-working teachers, outstanding results and disciplined mannerism. I have been tutoring for 6 years and have a very judicious and coherent understanding of the GCSE and A-level curriculum.
Having received detailed training on exam boards and how to mark like an examiner I will be able to give your child an insight into what is required from them during the exam and how to write and revise to maximize their potential. Often one of the fundamental issues faced by English students is not knowing HOW to revise, HOW MUCH to revise and WHAT to revise. I will be there every step of the way to help your child maintain and achieve the best result, guiding them and teaching them skills and tips that examiners want to see.
My teaching approach requires:
Pinpointing students strengths and weaknesses.
Getting students to recognise their own error in order to be able to change them.
Familiarising students with the mark exam board mark schemes and style of marking.
Breaking down questions into small manageable chunks in order to help students retain important information.
