Information About Andy - St. Helens tutor
This is how a referee rated Andy:
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile!
I have recently graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class mathematics degree, acheiving a mark of 88%. I have really enjoyed tutoring alongside my university studies, which is why I would love to carry it on now that I have moved back home.
- Two years of experience in one to one mathematics and study skills tutoring with Kumon Educational, working with children aged 4-16.
- Four week hands-on mathematics teaching internship at Pershore High School, Worcestershire, working with children aged 12-18.
I believe that the key to successful tutoring is 'less is more'. My goal is to provide the pupil with just the right level of information so that they can work things out for themselves; benefitting them in the long run and helping them to think deeply and critically about maths problems.
When tutoring, I try to listen more than I speak, as well as trying to convey my message as concisely as possible.
