Hi my name is Andy. I have been teaching for 17 years. I am Head of Science and Physics. My passion in science runs from the early years right through to A level. I deliver science shows and workshops but also offer residential revision programmes to large groups of students who are preparing for GCSE and A level exams. I have extensive knowledge and experience of how to support and challenge students to achieve their potential. I am also very approachable and well liked by those I have had the pleasure of working with. * I am experienced at delivering quality virtual online sessions.

Tutoring Experience

17 years teaching Physics A level. I am Currently Head of Science and Physics with additional roles in school intervention. I have particular experience in teaching WJEC, Edexcel, AQA and OCR (A). I have delivered tutor sessions for the last 7 years. My results are consistently high but more importantly is the value added and the difference in students progress. Results for Summer 22 - A level 4 A* 2A 2B, GCSE 2A* 1A

Tutoring Approach

The sessions are heavily focused on knowing, understanding the specification and being able to apply it to a range of questions. I provide detailed individual notes for the student on each topic and set past paper questions on them from that exam board to consolidate the facts. I get the student to do ALL of the recent specification past paper questions and I go through them carefully with the mark schemes to rehearse key words and phrases required by the exam board. I am on hand to give additional support through email, phone call or Microsoft Teams/Zoom at no extra cost (online sessions discounted). I am able to deliver online sessions through Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
