I offer tuition at most levels in history, politics, religious studies, and sociology. My principal field is early modern history, in which I have many years of experience researching at Oxford, which has resulted in a number of academic publications.
I have experience of teaching at all levels from bottom stream year 7 classes to Oxford undergraduate tutorials.
I have taught at the universities of Oxford and Reading. I have interviewed students for admission at Oxford. I have also taught at a Further Education college on Merseyside, and in a number of schools, including Westminster School, Magdalen College School in Oxford, and Newstead Wood School in Orpington. In addition I have many years experience teaching for tutorial colleges in Oxford.
The great educational advantage of one to one tutorials is that you can be totally open about difficulties you are having with a subject without an audience of people such as teachers or classmates whom you may be trying to impress. Conversely, you are able to pursue topics or ideas which others may not share. Either way, this freedom brings a responsibility to contribute. Tutorials are not a one way process.
