I`m bilingual in Spanish and French. My mother tongue is Spanish, whereas my relationship with the French language started when I was 4 years old. I studied at the French School of Valencia for 13 years and subsequently graduated in French Language, Literature and Culture. I am currently studying a master in Spanish Linguistics at the Spanish University of Distance Learning.
I`m very passionate about learning languages and their associated cultures -currently I am learning Italian. Teaching for me is a way to share this knowledge with other people. It is always a new challenge and a mutually rewarding exchange in which I do my utmost to aid the pupil to progress as quickly as possible.
Currently I teach Spanish and French languages at De Montfort University and Spanish, at Loughborough University. I also work in adult education delivering courses of Spanish language and culture at the WEA branches, in Leicester and Loughborough.
In 2015, I was granted a Fulbright Scholarship as a Foreign Language Teaching Assistant at a higher education in New York State. Amongst my main tasks, I taught Spanish language and culture at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, I led conversational sessions and I designed and delivered a weekend course about Spanish culture and history in the XXth century.
In England I have worked as a Spanish and French teacher in a Bespoke Languages, a private Language School (Leicester), in Noel Baker Community School (Derby) and in Tudor Grange Samworth Academy (Leicester).
Prior to my arrival in UK, I participated as a volunteer in the English Summer Program at Mary Help School of Zway (Ethiopia) where I got involved in teaching English as a Second Language to students from 9 to 16 years old.
I obtained experience in online tuitions thanks to my collaboration with the NIFLAR project, a virtual Spanish exchange between Dutch students of the Spanish language and Spanish native speakers, carried out by the University of Utrecht (Netherlands).
In 2012, I received a grant to undertake the position of Spanish Teaching Assistant at La Pérouse High School, in New Caledonia, a French island in South Pacific. My focus was on students from "lycée" levels (15-17 years-old)to BTS higher education students (a two-year French national diploma).
I will personalise the lessons according to your needs, enabling you to maximise the rewards from the time together. This will be achieved through a mix of exercises, role play, grammar study and the extension of your vocabulary.
I am most keen to share my linguistic knowledge, and am also happy to incorporate extra cultural information into the lessons such as songs, films or TV programs and so on.
