Hello! I have a 1st class degree in History of Art from Cambridge, where I am now studying for my PhD, and I have an MA (with distinction) from the Courtauld Institute of Art. I teach History of Art and English Language and Literature.
I aim to be the kind of teacher you can turn to for intellectually stimulating (and enjoyable!) sessions as well as disciplined advice for exams and assignments. My approach is informed by that of the world-class academics with whom I have had the privilege of working.
As well as tutoring, I have been teaching in university and giving public lectures for over five years. I have also published academic work designed to inform undergraduates and enthusiasts. For several years, I have favoured online tuition, which allows for enormous flexibility and efficiency.
If you become my Tutee, I will be available via email all day, every day, and am happy to answer questions free of charge and mark writing samples we may have planned during a session. Sometimes, you might prefer me to mark an essay rather than have a face-to-face chat. This I am also always happy to do for a slightly reduced fee.
I believe it is my job to work hard to find what will inspire a student and to present the subject matter accordingly. I will listen to the student to discover what will enable them to undertake revision and coursework in a disciplined, organised way, while fostering a lasting desire to learn.
