Personal Description:

My name is Amy, I am a tutor in the Richmond/ Twickenham area, and also work full time in the city.

A little about my background: I studied in Surrey where I achieved 11 GCSEs grades A-B, 3 A Levels (English Literature, Modern History and Theology) at grade B and gained a Diploma in English Law from the Open University. I am currently studying independently for a Bachelor of Laws degree, with a projected grade of 2:1. I am passionate about education and believe it should be accessible to anyone.

I am a friendly, confident person who is highly capable at preparing children and teenagers for exams, helping them to connect to subjects and supporting children as they build confidence in their education.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been working independently as a private tutor for almost a year, teaching children between the ages of 7 and 18. I currently specialise in study skills and exam prep for English students aged 15-18, though I am also available to teach younger children.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a friendly, supportive and structured approach to tutoring. Every child has different needs, so my goal is to ascertain the needs and abilities of your child and you before moving forward with a personalised study and lessons schedule. As a tutor, I am able to teach a child from scratch about a subject, prepare them for exams, or fill in the gaps. I am here to meet your child's needs, and to make them feel confident in reaching their goals. Tutoring can provide an educational lifeline to a struggling child or simply boost their confidence in a subject they may dislike.

The most important thing to take away is that I tailor my lessons to your child's needs. Together we can reach and surpass their goals, whether that's getting an A at GCSE or giving them the confidence to connect with a subject.
