I am a professional, enthusiastic and flexible tutor who creates individualised sessions to support whoever I am working with to achieve their goals. I firmly believe that education can not only be a truly enriching experience, but that it should be an enjoyable one as well. I am genuinely passionate about supporting those I work with to achieve their goals, increase their confidence, and have fun on the journey! Each person is different and I feel that private tutoring offers students a significant amount of attention, and individualised session planning that will help them succeed. I certainly put each of these elements into every session I deliver to ensure the children I work with get the absolute most out of their lessons.
I have been working in the education sector for 10 years after graduating with a combined English degree from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2005. Since then I have also gained my PCGE teaching qualification and a Master's degree in Education (at distinction level). As well as lecturing at a local university centre, for the past five years I have also specialised in private tutoring in Primary level English and Maths. I have found that through working in this way students are able to progress well through the increased amount of attention private tutoring provides. It is a highly rewarding way to work and I am passionate and enthusiastic about working with children as individuals to help them succeed and achieve their goals.Additionally, as a qualified coach I am also able to support children well with issues such as increased confidence, goal achievement and problem solving.
My approach to tutoring and academic coaching is to create individualised sessions that are both engaging and educational to help each person I am working with to achieve their goals. I firmly believe that education should be an enjoyable and enriching experience so I approach my lessons with a full range of teaching methods and resources in order to achieve this aim. I feel it is extremely important to work with a student to discover the way in which they work and learn best, and tailor my sessions according to such considerations. In this way a flexible and enjoyable teaching environment can be created.
