An English graduate and experienced educator, I have varied experience of working with children and young people in a range of settings. I offer:
*1:1 tuition in English Language and English Literature
*Small group tutorials
*Exam preparation and revision
*Post-16 and post-18 career coaching. Practical support to write personal statements, complete UCAS applications, and to prepare for interviews
*1:1 tuition, coaching, and support available for young people experiencing difficulty in attending school - school phobia, school refusal, health reasons.
I graduated with an honours degree in English Literature in 2005 and went on to study a PGCE to teach English at Key Stages 4 and 5. I currently develop and manage services for young people in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. This includes designing accredited courses for learners, writing schemes of work, and designing learning resources. Before this I was a Connexions Personal Adviser and completed the Level 4 Qualification in Advice and Guidance. I have worked with children and young people in a range of settings since 2002.
I have tutored and taught English Language and English Literature for many years and am experienced in working with children and young people between the ages of 6 and 26
I trained as an NLP Practitioner in 2006 and use Neuro-Linguistic Programming and coaching techniques in my work with children and young people. It is important to understand preferred learning styles and to design and facilitate learning activities that reflect this.
My work with children and young people is bespoke and personalised to suit their individual needs. Learning is fun, activity-based and reflects their preferred learning style. 1:1 tuition is an excellent way to ensure your child succeeds academically. All teaching and activities support and complement the work that the child is doing at school.
