Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Amy! I am a third year medical student on the graduate entry medicine course at Barts and The London School of Medicine, Queen Mary University.

I graduated with a 1st class degree in Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham in 2014.

I achieved
A* in Chemistry A Level,
A* in Maths A Level and
A in Biology A Level

I have tutored in science and maths and I have been teaching Human Biology at an intensive Summer School for 13-15 year olds at Oxford Royale Academy in Oxford University.

I can tutor for medical school applications, medical work experience, entrance tests and interviews.

I am available in the evenings from the end of August 2016 indefinitely, as I will be living and studying in London for at least the next 3 years.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope I can help!

Tutoring Experience:

I was a human biology teacher to 2 classes of 15 students aged 13-15 at the Oxford Royale Summer School in Oxford University from June-August 2016. I taught a range of subjects, ran science experiments, marked homework and wrote individual reports on each student.

I have also tutored one-on-one to primary school and secondary school aged pupils in maths and science.

I was an au pair for a year where I cared for 4 children, and I have worked with children of a variety of ages in different jobs and schools over the last 8 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I love working with younger people and particularly love seeing how they can improve so quickly when they have the help that they need. I believe that almost anything taught in school can be understood really well and found enjoyable if it's explained in the right way for the individual, and even the hardest subject can seem simple over time.
It's important to know what you would like to come out of tutoring, if it's to pass an exam then I would make sure we do lots of practice questions and really understand what the examiners are looking for in your board for your subject. If it's to get a better understanding of the subject in general, we would focus on areas of difficulty and spend time improving your knowledge so that you feel much more comfortable in your subject.
Hopefully I can help you improve and enjoy your subject even more!
