Information About Amy - Hove tutor - (6 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Amy:
I am an enthusiastic, committed, qualified teacher with a passion for learning. I enjoy giving the children that I work with confidence and enjoyment in all that they do. I live in Hove with my husband and daughters, and enjoy baking, yoga and reading in my spare time.
I am a primary school teacher with experience across KS1 and 2. Most recently, I was Head of Year 6, where I supported the children through their SATs tests, entrance exams and transition to secondary school.
I have been tutoring children for several years, helping to prepare them for examinations, catch up with schoolwork or to generally build their confidence.
I am very experienced in working with children to prepare for entrance exams/11+. I am happy to provide long term support, or a short term block of booster sessions, to increase confidence and practise techniques.
I have also supported several adults who were preparing to take the professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy, needed to embark on teacher training qualifications.
I strive to ensure my lessons are well structured, well resourced, memorable and fun. I feel that being able to receive 1:1 tailored support gives children (and adults!) the best opportunity to succeed.

Amy's experience and training as a qualified teacher can be seen by how she can assess where my daughter is and how she can progress. She adapts her style to fit what my daughter responds to helps my daughter to take charge of her learning, helping the transition to secondary easier.
Amy is warm and friendly and is flexible and adaptable, I thoroughly recommend her.
I can't recommend Amy enough.
My daughter looks forward to her extra lesson with Amy and has grown in confidence already.
