I am an enthusiastic, committed, qualified teacher with a passion for learning. I enjoy giving the children and adults that I work with confidence and enjoyment in all that they do. I live in Hove with my husband and children and I enjoy yoga, baking, reading and being at the beach.
I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience across KS1, 2 and 3. I have been tutoring children for many years, helping to catch up with schoolwork, supporting learning while they are unable to access school, or to generally build their confidence.
I have a Masters in Education, with a focus on SEN, and have experience working with children with a wide variety of different needs.
I am experienced in working with children to prepare for entrance exams/11+. I am happy to provide long term support, or a short term block of booster sessions, to increase confidence and practise techniques.
I have also supported several adults who were preparing to take the professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy, needed to embark on teacher training qualifications.
I am currently available during the school day, and so would be able to support those who are currently being educated at home, or those who are unable to access school for any reason. I have previously supported those who are at home due to social, emotional and mental health difficulties, as well as those just waiting to find the right placement.
I strive to ensure my lessons are well structured, well resourced, memorable and fun. I feel that being able to receive 1:1 tailored support gives everyone the best opportunity to succeed.
