Hello! I am a recent graduate from University of Oxford, where I earned an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Prior to this, I received my BA in Political Science from Columbia University in New York. I love sharing my passion for these subjects, and what better way than teaching?
I spent a gap year between my undergraduate and graduate degrees teaching English in the south of Thailand - easily the most rewarding role I have ever experienced. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I spent my evenings tutoring students in both English and for their college entrance examinations.
The best facilitator of learning is interest in the subject. Given that many students find their studies dull and tiresome, I find ways to make the subjects exciting. For example, when teaching English as a second language I create assignments and context around my student's interests, while incorporating the target skills. If they are learning a foreign language, they should be able to talk about what interests them! Ultimately, learning should be both fun and constructive. I have the patience and enthusiasm to make it both.
