Information About Amar - Barnet tutor
I am currently undertaking my pre registration to qualify as a pharmacist in North London. My first degree was from Nottingham University, A BSc in Computer Science and Management, but decided to return back to university due to a career change, and consequently a pharmacy degree. As both of my degrees had/have a large mathematical component (working out doses, calculations… ). Further to this, biology is a big part of any medically related degree, and hence I feel I am able to help out in both areas.
I have been tutoring for five years, on a word of mouth basis. In that time I have had 8 students ranging from ages 14 to 18. They generally get at least 1 grade higher than expected, a massive difference in the grand scheme of thing
I have an informal, relaxed attitude, as I've found that most students can do maths once they have got over their fear of failure. I can generally show that Maths really isn't that hard, and unlike English, you know when you've nailed a question. I really like the look on students faces, when they finally get a mathematical concept. I generally back up teaching examples with past exam paper questions to allow students to get familiar with what is expected of them on the day of the exam.
